1 Corinthians 13:13: And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

When I first read 1 Corinthians 13:13 I couldn’t read it without hearing Alan Jackson singing the verse. That still sometimes happens but when you know the love of God, you understand what that scripture means. Love is the greatest.

I thought about that today, our first Valentine’s day as husband and wife, not just our love for each other but love is a whole.

Valentine’s day was lovely. We celebrated with stuffed pork chops, four of them- only two that we cooked. I bought two and Tom bought two. Communication isn’t are strong suit. Love forgives your spouse for not telling you they already bought pork chops. God forgives way more than that. Forgiveness is just one thing love does. Love does a lot of other things, it is the greatest of all.

We’re really grateful love isn’t meant to be celebrated just on Valentine’s day or we’d have to freeze these extra pork chops.
